Our story is not just about a place, it is about the people who breathe life into this charming abode. Meet the hosts, Susanne and Rajat, and the dedicated team who make your stay at Bungalow 2 an unforgettable experience.
Susanne K Singh: The Cultural Explorer
Born and brought up in Germany, Susanne has been living in India since 2010. Her journey has always revolved around a deep fascination with different cultures and new languages. Curiosity made her embark on globetrotting adventures around the world, be it dog sledding in Scandinavia, Shinkansen riding in Japan, island hopping in Florida or a whole high school year in the US.
Susanne’s passion became her profession when she worked as the Product Manager for tailor-made tours at Germany’s leading study tour operator, Studiosus Reisen. Her keen sense of quality, creativity, and meticulous attention to detail delighted countless guests. Eventually, her journey led her to India, where she successfully built up the travel department for a German-Indian intercultural solutions provider in New Delhi. Today, she takes care of guests at Bungalow 2, putting smiles on their faces.
Beyond her professional life, Susanne regularly explores different corners of India, capturing the country’s beauty through her lens.
Rajat Singh: The Travel Connoisseur
Rajat’s roots trace back to the village of Awai in Jaisalmer, where he is a Rawlot and a descendant of Maharawal Amar Singh Ji of Jaisalmer. Growing up in the Himalayan city of Dehradun, where his father practiced medicine, Rajat’s educational journey led him to a Masters in Tourism Administration and learn German at the Goethe Institute.
Rajat’s career took a unique path as he chose to become a Freelance Tour Leader for renowned German and American Tour Operators, including EF GoAhead Tours, Windrose Finest Travel, Dr. Tigges, Studiosus Reisen, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and Gebeco. He explored extensively across Europe, the Indian subcontinent, and parts of Asia.
Rajat’s diverse interests range from handicrafts & antiques, a keen eye for old architecture and modern building styles to his big passion for Classic Cars. His Classic Car collection includes a Mercedes W123, two HM Ambassador Avigos, a Jeep CJ3B-Hurricane, and a few others under restoration.
A Family and a Team
Together, Susanne and Rajat bring over 45 years of combined experience in the travel industry, making them a perfect team to create the Bungalow 2 experience. They understand the needs and desires of solo travelers and small groups in India, ensuring a memorable and comfortable stay.
In 2013, Susanne and Rajat embarked on a new journey together, getting married. Their union welcomed a beautiful addition to the family in 2017, their son. At Bungalow 2, family values are at the heart of the experience.

Our small but dedicated team of skilled housewives, young men and women who mostly come from rural areas and modest backgrounds. They may not have a formal education in hotel management, but they are always keen to learn and give their best performance. This helps us offer more genuine experiences for our guests, and also allows us to support the local community’s development.
